A special magnetized oil membrane seals the sprocket outlet from the body, preventing water from entering the body. The technology, used by Nasa in fuel lines on spacecraft, is exclusive to Daiwa in the industry. it is intuitive that the absence of water and dust inside the body preserves the mechanisms from corrosion hazards, extending the life of the reel. On more advanced reels, the system is also applied for the benefit of the line guide and control wheel, other weak points to be protected. Both applications affect the smoothness of rotation, reducing friction and increasing fishing pleasure.
