Overview
WILDERNESS HUCHO THE KING
The Hucho is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and sought-after freshwater predators in Europe. It’s a fish that tests your technique, endurance, and composure—and requires gear that’s up to the challenge. That’s why our lineup wouldn’t be complete without a rod designed specifically for fishing for this species. In developing it, we relied on the expertise of Alessandro Galletti of Hucho The King, a leading authority in this discipline.
A rod designed specifically for Hucho must first and foremost be sturdy and reliable, without sacrificing lightness and comfort. To achieve this balance, we’ve chosen HVF Nanoplus carbon, combined with X45X Full Shield technology. The result is a lightweight, perfectly balanced blank—ideal for tackling long days of fishing without tiring, yet with all the strength needed to handle the extraordinary power of this predator, even during the most grueling fights in strong currents.
Every detail of the blank has been carefully considered: its action, length, and diameters are the result of meticulous development work. In fact, in the waters where the Hucho lives, anglers are often allowed to carry only one rod, which must therefore be able to adapt to a wide variety of situations without compromise.
The progressive action of the Wilderness Hucho offers the perfect balance between sensitivity, precision, and power. It allows you to cast and work a wide range of lures—from spoon-style minnows to soft baits—with ease, while maintaining maximum control at all times. At the same time, the generous power reserve in the butt section allows you to confidently handle even record-breaking fish.
The original Fuji SIC guides are designed to minimize ice buildup during fishing trips in sub-zero temperatures, without compromising balance and responsiveness. The 9-foot length strikes the ideal balance between casting distance, lure control, and maneuverability, offering all the mobility needed along the banks and excellent fish handling among the rocks.
The EVA grip rounds out the design, ensuring a firm and comfortable grip even with wet hands or while wearing gloves, for total control at every stage of the fight.
The Hucho doesn’t give you a second chance: when the time comes, you need a rod that’s built to rise to the challenge.
