Overview
The Daiwa Airity ST represents the Sensitive Tune version of the lightest spinning reel in the Daiwa range, redesigned in an ultra-specialized key for super finesse techniques such as trout area, native trout and light game.
With a super-compact magnesium monocoque body, the weight stops at just 145 grams, providing record-breaking lightness without sacrificing rigidity and reliability.
Compared with the standard Airity, the ST introduces solutions dedicated to maximum smoothness and sensitivity:

oil-tuned, grease-free bearings minimize initial friction and make rotation freer and more immediate;

Removal of the Magsealed from the pinion further lightens the mechanics and improves direct response in recovery.
Completing the equipment are the ATD-L Super Finesse clutch (3 kg max drag), designed to offer progressive modulation and extremely precise micro-adjustments, and the I-Shape High Grip knob, designed to provide secure grip and comfort even with very thin wires and ultralight rods.
The Airity ST is not just a lightening of the Airity-it is a precision machine developed for those seeking maximum control and sensitivity with the lightest lures.
Alongside the ST version, Daiwa also offers theAirity SF – Super Finesse, a model further lightened and optimized for extreme sensitivity.
With its short spool, even more compact body (only 140 g in size 2500) and specific tuning for micro baits and ultra-thin terminals, the SF is designed for those who want to push the limits of traditional finesse with maximum precision and control.

The Airity marries the Airdrive Design: the innovative construction concept that aims to innovate the most important construction elements of the reel, making it as high-performance, lightweight and durable as ever. The newly developed components are: rotor, spool, bow and spindle.
AIRDRIVE ROTOR
A new rotor, completely redesigned and redesigned to provide exceptional smoothness: in fact, the new design allows the rotor’s weight to be reduced and the degree of inertia in rotation to be further lowered.
AIRDRIVE SPOOL
A newly designed reel, designed to be even lighter and with a re-shaped skirt, provides superior swing quality and greater sensitivity. The design of the inner part has also been revised to give a more distinctive sound to the clutch buzzer.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
A new one-piece bow with a small diameter that allows it to limit its weight while maintaining great strength and solidity. A new angle of inclination was also designed to further optimize the sliding of the line inside the line guide roll, which was also redesigned to maximize smoothness.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT
An innovative system that ensures complete absence of contact between the main shaft and pinion.
The latter is now supported at the ends by bearings for even more efficient power transfer to the rotor.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS about use.
This reel is designed to enhance the performance of sensitivity and accuracy, designed specifically for Trout Area and Micro Stream Trout fishing. Therefore, care should be taken not to use it in heavier techniques that may affect its durability and proper functioning. Please keep in mind the following directions:
- Do not retrieve the wire with excessive tension as it may damage the coil and internal mechanics. The recommended tension for recovery is 100g for Nylon, 200g for PE.
- It is recommended to set the clutch load around 800 g or less. Recovery with an excessively high load can cause damage and problems in rotation. Be especially careful in the case of stranding. It is also recommended not to overtighten the clutch.
- the Airity ST SF was developed for the use of nylon, fluorocarbon and Ester up to 4 lb load and PE wires up to 0.6mm diameter, but it was designed for Super Finesse type use, so we recommend using wires below the stated limits at all times.
